Inzwischen habe ich noch mehr Leisten gesägt und die beiden Bretter miteinander durch 3 Scharniere verbunden. 2 Leisten fehlen noch und dann wird die Helfende Hand mit meinem nächsten Intarsiaprojekt eingeweiht und getestet.

In the meantime I scrolled some more bars and connected the halves with hinges. Two more bars are still missing and later I will inaugurate and test the Helping Hand with my next intarsia project.

Weil die Platte nach dem Montieren der Scharniere sehr groß und für mich dann schlecht zu handhaben wäre, habe ich mit einer Platte angefangen und füge die beiden später zusammen.

The base would be too big for me and my workshop after they are connected with the hinges - this is why I start with one base. I will connect them later.





Der Abstand der Bohrlöcher ist bei allen Leisten genau gleich, so dass sie gegeneinander ausgetauscht werden können.

The distance between the holes is always the same and the bars can be mounted in different places.





Ich habe festgestellt, dass deutsche Bleistifte genau in ein 8er Bohrloch passen, also übertrage ich die Löcher auf diese Weise - hat geklappt.

I realized that german pencils fit exactly into an 8mm hole. This is the way I transferred the position of the holes - it worked.

Simply gorgeous!

Under most conditions it is not recommended that you glue some pieces together before you glue the entire project. In most cases this is not done because you will not get all the pieces to fit later. But with the helping hand you can clamp all the pieces in there correct positions while only gluing the ones you need.

Unter bestimmten Bedingungen ist es nicht zu empfehlen erst einige Teile zusammen zu leimen, bevor das ganze Projekt verleimt wird. Grund dafür ist, dass es dann oft nicht mehr gelingt, alle anderen Teile darum herum passend zusammen zu fügen. Mit der Helfenden Hand gelingt es allerdings, die anderen Teile in der richtigen Position zu halten, während Ihr nur die verleimt, die ihr gerade verleimen möchtet.



When you have all the pieces fit it is some times easier to shape them as a group. Edge glue these pieces and reclamp the entire project so it will go together later.

Wenn alle Teile gut zusammen passen, ist es manchmal einfacher, wenn man sie gleichzeitig, quasi als "Gruppe" schleift. Verleimt die betreffenden Teile an den Kanten und fügt das restliche Projekt mit den Zwingen wieder zusammen.



In this case the fish was shaped and scales were added to give it a more realistic look.

This was done to all the fish before they were finally reassembled in the main picture. By using the helping hand everything was held correctly throughout the entire project.

So wurde mit allen Fischen verfahren, bevor sie später in das Bild eingefügt wurden. Durch die Nutzung der Helfenden Hand wurden alle anderen Teile während des gesamten Projektes korrekt zusammen gehalten.
